Entry Requirements

  • Degree: Minimum 2.2 Honours in Psychology, Social Psychology, Counselling, Education, Law, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, Criminology or a related subject.

Note: We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths. 

English Language Requirements: 

  • Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).

Curriculum

Essentially, you will explore how to bring psychology and the study of behaviour to bear upon criminal investigations.

You will complete six modules on a range of topics. One will involve an intensive week of lectures and discussions set alongside keynote speeches from investigative professionals.

Another will be a criminal psychology module in which recent research articles will be discussed at length.

You will pick two modules from a choice of four which are taught within the School of Business and Law by our internationally acclaimed experts on terrorism and organised crime.

You will also complete a dissertation, which is a piece of original research, with support from a dedicated supervisor..

Your range of study will involve you in the consideration of ethics and suitable boundaries in the investigative process.
