Curriculum
On this course we mix traditional biotechnology with an introduction to the cutting edge of research at the molecular level.
The focus of the course is not simply on acquiring a depth of current knowledge in the subject but also on the methodology used in obtaining that knowledge. We use recent research papers to inform class discussion.
To gain your MSc you will complete four taught core modules on Molecular Biology and Disease, Commercial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Research Skills.
You will then undertake a dissertation on a relevant topic which will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your individual skills and abilities.
For a PG Diploma, you will follow the same study but without the dissertation. If you complete the Molecular Biology and Commercial Biotechnology modules you will be awarded a PG Certificate.
