About Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)
Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) was established in 1976 and is one of the first private universities in Malaysia. It was previously named Institut Latihan Sultan Ahmad Shah (ILSAS) until 1997. The institution later changed its name to UNITEN, upon becoming a recognised institute of higher learning. Their vision is to become a leading university in global energy.
The programmes offered are focused on Engineering, IT and Business.
The university focuses on its students in becoming individuals and top-class graduates. These students are molded by the courses offered, designed with expert advice from the industry and a world class teaching faculty.

Accommodation
On-campus apartments are available for over 4,000 students. Bedrooms are either single or double and an apartment can accommodate two to six students.
Facilities per unit:
- The premium units include water heater, fridge, lounge, air conditioning.
- The non-high end are equipped with basic facilities such as, sofa, kitchenettes and modern toilets.

- Deluxe Single (4 students per apartment) - RM440
- Deluxe Twin sharing (4 students per apartment) - RM320
- Superior Single (6 students per apartment) - RM340

All the apartments include the following facilities:
- Room inventory: single bed & mattress, side table, wardrobe, noticeboard, a ceiling fan and lamp;
- the warden of the student units makes sure that any damages will be repaired immediately.
Campus
UNITEN has two campuses. Putrajaya Campus was established in 1997 and is located about 38 km south of Kuala Lumpur. The campus has an area of 214 hectares.
UNITEN's Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Campus in Pahang began on 13 February 2001 because of the rapid growth of Putrajaya campus.

- UNITEN welcomes students from all over the world. Eventually they expect to have about 20 percent of the university’s students to come from other countries.
UNITEN provides a wide range of support services to international students to look after their welfare and special needs. The International Office provides assistance pertaining information and immigration policies.
