About
Growing Demands for Cybersecurity & Networking Experts
As outlined in a report by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the demand for cybersecurity professionals in Malaysia is poised to escalate by 10% annually, reaching a market valuation of RM4.5 billion by 2025. Simultaneously, the networking sector in the country is forecasted to surge to RM34.4 billion by 2024, driven by the expansion of 5G networks and the widespread adoption of cloud computing. To meet this surge, the Malaysian government has initiated the National Cyber Security Policy and introduced the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, aimed at fortifying the nation's cybersecurity infrastructure and cultivating a proficient workforce.
On the global stage, a report by Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that global cybercrime expenses will soar to $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. Additionally, research by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimates that cybercrime and cyber espionage collectively incur a global toll of $600 billion annually.
