Curriculum
In the first of your two years, you’ll learn important theory as well as developing research skills – an area in which most nurses don’t have a great deal of experience.
You’ll also learn about leadership in your job. The module that covers leadership is designed to help nurses gain the confidence to become leaders and influencers in their professions.
In your second year, you’ll have the chance to select one of five specialist optional modules. You could pick from: Global and Local Perspectives in Health; Mastering Communication in Nursing Practice; Working with Patients with Mental Health Problems; Working with Patients who Use Substances; or Health Promotion in Later Life.
Then you’ll do your important work-based project. You’ll select an area of nursing practice that you think needs improving and undertake research to make it happen. Our results in this area are impressive. Our nurses don’t just research – they change things.
