Curriculum
In the early part of your training, the focus is on biomedical science alongside an appropriate level of patient contact. As you progress through the programme your exposure to clinical medicine increases.
The curriculum model is essentially a two cycle system, with the time spent in Dublin at University College Dublin (UCD) or the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in predominantly Pre-Clinical medical sciences, when they gain a comprehensive understanding of the biomedical sciences necessary to enter Clinical training. Upon successful completion of their Pre-Clinical studies, students continue with their Clinical training in PMC, Penang, Malaysia, while still revisiting the medical sciences when appropriate.
