Entry Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in a Related Field:

  • Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
  • Pass with CGPA 2.50 - 2.75 may require an internal assessment
  • Pass with CGPA below 2.50 may require a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

English Language Requirements (for International Students):

  • IELTS: Minimum score 5.5

  • MUET: Minimum band 4.0

  • TOEFL Essentials Online: Minimum score 8

  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum score 46

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Minimum score 51

  • Linguaskill: Minimum score 160

  • OET: Minimum score 200

  • ELS: Level 108

  • International students who do not meet these English requirements may join the Intensive English Programme at Nilai University to improve their language skills.

Curriculum

Core Module

  • Research Methodology and Statistics 

The Master of Applied Sciences programme encompasses the following five phases:

Phase I – Pre-requisite Core Course (3 credit hours)
Research Methodology and Statistics (Only for students who do not have sufficient knowledge or background on research methodology and statistics).

Phase II - Preliminary Research
This forms the basis on which students build their proposal and eventually their project.

Phase III - Proposal Defence
Each student must publicly present and defend his/her research proposals. The student is only allowed to continue with his/her research to Phase IV on passing of the defence of his/her proposal.

Phase IV - Thesis Preparation
The student progresses to his/her data collection, data analysis and report writing.

Phase V - Viva Voce
After completion and submission of the thesis, the student is required to attend a Viva Voce to orally defend his/her thesis.
