About
This programme aims to equip students with professional and contemporary knowledge, technical competence and operational skills in vision health care to meet different health needs of people with a variety of vision disorders or discomfort, and to meet the growing market and manpower demand for eye care services in Hong Kong. This programme also provides specialized training and essential knowledge of optometry and ophthalmology for caring people in practices at the paraprofessional level as an Eye Care Assistant or Optometric Assistant who can provide quality customer services and patient care supports with confidence to think critically when planning and providing ophthalmic care services.
This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.

Entry Requirements
International Students:
- Applicants with academic qualifications obtained in secondary or tertiary institutions outside Hong Kong will be assessed individually by the departments concerned.
- IGCSE, GCE, International Baccalaureate (IB) or other overseas qualifications which are comparable with the required levels of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education will be accepted.
