- Heriot-Watt University Malaysia Foundation in Science: CCCC
- A-Level: BBB
- STPM: BBB
- The subjects studied must include Mathematics and Chemistry
- Diploma deemed recognised by the Malaysian Government
- Any other relevant qualification deemed recognised by the Malaysian Government.
English language requirements

First year
- Fluid Mechanics
- Heat Transfer
- Mass Transfer
- Thermodynamics
- Also includes a mini-design project
Second year
- Provides opportunities to analyse key operations in the industry, particularly the processing and separation of gases and liquids
- Topics on Safety, Environment and Economics are consolidated in a group-based project
Third year
- Processing Solids
- Energy Efficiency
- Developing Sustainable Processes
- A group-based design project and individual research project are also undertaken
Fourth year (MEng Chemical Engineering with Oil and Gas Technology only)
- In this last year, specialist and core process engineering subjects are studied along with an individual research project, offering the chance to look into a particular aspect of chemical and process engineering
- All students participate in a more intensive group-based design project which focuses on technical operability and commercial viability of a processing facility
